La Roux & Dub Step – In For The Kill Skream Remix

26 07 2010

You might have heard the La Roux track In For The Kill of even Sugar Tongue Slim’s rap version. But Dub Step took the song and made it much more enjoyable, for me at least. I heard it first this past weekend while heading out to the bars and fell in love. The original is a more pop friendly technoish version but this Skream Remix sounds a lot darker with a much more gritty bass line, haunting synths, and a crunchy snare. It remind’s me of Phill Collin’s In the Air Tonight which is one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s progressive in nature and gets hype towards the end. Awesome remix. Share with the world!

Andy Ha – Love (Cover)

25 07 2010

I’ve mentioned Andy a few times on this site on various posts. He’s been known to help me out at shows for an acoustic version of Sinner’s Prayer as well as mixing tracks together like the Love The Way You Lie Remix. And of course, he is also James Ha’s older brother. He’s very musically talented in his own right and even with the heavy autotune you can see that. In this clip he covers Musiq Souldchild’s Love who is another Philly native. I always loved this song and I very much enjoy Andy’s rendition of it. Philly got talent, I’m telling you. We coming baby!

Breaking Down The Door: The Muzo Documentary

24 07 2010

The homies at Sofa King Awesome Productions documented the Muzo camp for a few months and put together this short film. They followed us to various events including my show in Michigan, Johnnyphlo’s album release, and Project Korea. You get to see some behind the scenes footage that you have not seen before and we explain in detail things about our music that you might have been wondering. We also discuss our mission statement and the point we’re trying to get across in our music. Please watch both parts and tell us what you think! We will break that door down.

Big K.R.I.T. – Children of the World

20 07 2010

This is the first I’ve heard from Big K.R.I.T. (King Remebered In Time) and it was quite the first impression. Children of the World was produced by the New Orleans native as well. He raps with a Southern drawl which is sometimes mistaken as being uneducated but if you listen to homeboy’s words you would know he is far from that. He spits so eloquently and his lyrics impressed me so much I felt the need to share with yall. I know some of yall were enjoy this as much as I do.

“My conversations with always seem to leave him speechless.”

James Ha – Somebody To Love (Cover)

19 07 2010

Your boy and mine is back at it and better than ever! Here he is covering Justin Bieber’s newest single Somebody To Love. Of course he adds his patented body beatboxing to add some flavor. He also does more dancing in this video which I can dig. What some might not know about James is that his dancing skills was actually how I first heard of James. Him and his brother were known around Philly as very talented dancers. We even entered a talent show as a team where we all danced and I rapped. We won 2nd place. Maybe there’s tape of that floating around somewhere?

It’s been a couple month’s since our last Spotlight feature, but we are back with a brand new interview with MUzO Entertainment and Philly native Decipher. We got to talk about a lot of different topics including how De teamed up with Johnnyphlo, working with other artists such as Chan, the dramatic story behind his family, battling and the possibility of Grind Time, what’s in store for Decipher in 2010 and more! Lastly, watch till the end for an exclusive preview of some never heard before material.

Wordsworth vs. George W. Bush

13 07 2010

I was recently reminded of The Lyricist Lounge Show by a blog on XXL.com. If you never watched or were too young to remember I’m sorry to say you missed out on something special. The premise of the show was basically sketch comedy done with dope lyrics. Think SNL x Grind Time Battles. My favorite and probably most peoples favorite MC on the show was Wordsworth. In this specific sketch he debates former President Bush as if he were an opposing candidate. This actually inspired one of my older tracks that I almost forgot about until now. Maybe I’ll release that a little later as well. If you never heard of The Lyricist Lounge Show or just miss it like I do, Youtube it and find out what’s really good!

Decipher & Johnnyphlo feat. Ailee – Nobody Remix

4 07 2010

Your boy is in his remix mode! Me and my Muzo brother Johnnyphlo got together with our sister Ailee and put this joint together for yall real quick. You might have seen footage of our rendition of Wondergirls – Nobody before but we finally decided to release the studio recording. I also changed my verse so I hope yall enjoy that. Me and Ailee also wrote a new bridge together to add a little something extra to the track. Shout out to Dennis Ryu for producing the video! You can download this one for free once again. Spread the word my people!

Anita Oh x Decipher – Love The Way You Lie Remix

1 07 2010

I recently posted Anita Oh and Dan Koh’s mash up of Replay x Pyramid and after that I got the chance to work with Anita on this track. We remixed Eminem and Rihanna’s Love The Way You Lie with the help of Andy Ha (James Ha’s brother). Anita laid her vocals and played the piano. Andy laced the drums and the guitar while I did my thing with the lyrics. The simple video showcases a few scenic spots in Philly that I love so you guys get to see a splash of my hometown. You can download the joint for free. Hope you enjoy the track and can help me spread the word! Muzo!
