Philly stand up! My hometown natives James Ha, Dan Koh, Goggles have put together something special for yall. Dan and Goggles may not have the Youtube hits that James has but that might soon change. They all showcase their talents as they cover Craig David and Wheesung’s “Insomnia.” They mash up David’s English version with the Korean version. I’m proud to know these guys.

I was told of these guys from James Ha. He said they are his favorite singers so I had to check it out. These guys got lungs for real. The runs they have are so sick. The Brady Bunch theme isn’t usually something you would think of as a vocally challenging song but I bet you can’t sing it like these two.

This song is something special. KPOP is a huge movement right now. I almost forgot that there are other genres of Korean music. A friend of mine referred me to this song and I fell in love with it. Windy City is a Korean reggae band. A few of their songs really show that their sound is highly influenced by Sublime but not this one as much. The visuals that accompany the song are dope as well. I encourage people to get out of their comfort zone and find some music to expand their horizons. Windy City did that for me with this joint.

Music Mondays are turning out to be more like Acoustic Cover Mondays. I guess I like acoustic covers a lot more than I thought, oh well. A friend introduced me to Francis Perfecto’s (what an ill name) vocals a few days back and I was impressed. He doesn’t have the Youtube hits that a Jennifer Chung, Ailee, or a James Ha might have but the talent is there so maybe I’ll be the one to break ground on Perfecto. Here he cover’s MJ’s Man in the Mirror which happens to be my favorite MJ song. Alan Tiongson plays the guitar as Perfecto sings and the combo blends well to me. He has a few videos up so maybe we’ll see his Youtube numbers go up soon. Good luck and keep grinding, Perfecto.
