Channel APA Interview

28 04 2010

Met up with Channel APA when they were making their East coast rounds and I was lucky enough to get an interview with them. We cover a range of topics from the usual “how I got into music” to things never heard like what “About That Money” might have been. Just a little look behind the music. If you have any more questions just ask here! Thanks again, Steve Nguyen!

Jin – The A List

26 04 2010

The big homie Jin did something special here. He’s unquestionably a pioneer in this Asian American Hiphop thing. I remember my friends and I gathering to watch him rip opponents on Freestyle Friday. And now he’s shouting me out in songs. How freaking surreal! Peep 2:34-2:40. He drops names on who’s who in the Asian American scene throughout the verse laid over Drake’s Over beat. Seriously feeling humbled and blessed. Thank you, Jin.

My Birthday Party

21 04 2010

It’s that time of year! ENV Nightlife is throwing me a little party for my birthday. All the who, what, when, where, why’s can be found on facebook or the flyer above. Come out and party with your boy! And yall know I got rapper friends and yes, a few of them will be travelling to Philly to show love. Let’s celebrate!

Bambu – The Queen is Dead

20 04 2010

Bambu is a talented MC coming from The Bay area. He’s been doing this thing for a while and “The Queen is Dead” is his first cut off of his album The Paper Cuts. He speaks on the female image in a light that’s rarely seen in todays Hiphop. So refreshing to hear and I’m seriously feeling a lot of Bambu’s shit. Look out for homie cause he coming with it!

April Chase – Can’t Believe It (Cover)

12 04 2010

Saw this over at a-tunes. I haven’t heard of April Chase until now but better late than never. They’re a band coming out of The Bay area. To be honest I haven’t heard much of their other stuff but I love this acoustic cover of T-Pain and Lil’ Wayne’s “I Can’t Believe It.” It’s a live recording so she happens to stumble over a few of the lyrics but personally I think that adds to the endearing quality of the track. I’ll be looking out for April Chase in the future!

Decipher – ProjectKOREA III (Live)

9 04 2010

Thanks to allkpop for this feature! This clip covers my performance during the ProjectKOREA show. Started the show with “Hyundai Daewoo Kia” and went into “Where You From” with the help of my manager/hypeman Soonho. Please watch until the end because thats my favorite. I debuted a new song from The Effect titled “I Wanna Be” which features Andrew Choi (formerly of The Ides) on the hook. Feedback is appreciated!

Johnnyphlo – Wedding Dress Remix

8 04 2010

Muzo going hard baby! On some real shit, I love Taeyang’s original Wedding Dress. I’ve even been known to do the dance if they happen to play it at the club and I been drankin’ haha. But my man Johnnyphlo murked this remix! Don’t have to take my word for it, take a listen yourself.

Cha Cha Malone – I Still

8 04 2010

I just heard this joint a few minutes ago and was instantly inspired to post this up. Got it on repeat as I type. I met Cha Cha over the past weekend at the ProjectKOREA show. I was introduced to him as a member of AOM but found out he is a man of many talents. You’ll know what I mean once you listen to the song. Wishing you much success Chase!

Decipher x Johnnyphlo x Ailee x Clara Chung – Nobody Remix (Live)

6 04 2010

Project Korea III was a huge success this past weekend. A lot of people came out to see Art of Movement, which includes Jay Park, but the other featured artists that night did their thing (if I do say so myself.) Johnnyphlo, Ailee, Clara Chung and myself opened up for AOM with our own rendition of the Wondergirls Rainstone Remix of their hit “Nobody.” Check out the video and let me know what you think of the performance!
