26 04 2010The big homie Jin did something special here. He’s unquestionably a pioneer in this Asian American Hiphop thing. I remember my friends and I gathering to watch him rip opponents on Freestyle Friday. And now he’s shouting me out in songs. How freaking surreal! Peep 2:34-2:40. He drops names on who’s who in the Asian American scene throughout the verse laid over Drake’s Over beat. Seriously feeling humbled and blessed. Thank you, Jin.

Bambu – The Queen is Dead
20 04 2010Bambu is a talented MC coming from The Bay area. He’s been doing this thing for a while and “The Queen is Dead” is his first cut off of his album The Paper Cuts. He speaks on the female image in a light that’s rarely seen in todays Hiphop. So refreshing to hear and I’m seriously feeling a lot of Bambu’s shit. Look out for homie cause he coming with it!

April Chase – Can’t Believe It (Cover)
12 04 2010Saw this over at a-tunes. I haven’t heard of April Chase until now but better late than never. They’re a band coming out of The Bay area. To be honest I haven’t heard much of their other stuff but I love this acoustic cover of T-Pain and Lil’ Wayne’s “I Can’t Believe It.” It’s a live recording so she happens to stumble over a few of the lyrics but personally I think that adds to the endearing quality of the track. I’ll be looking out for April Chase in the future!

A lot of people came out to see Art of Movement, which includes Jay Park, but the other featured artists that night did their thing (if I do say so myself.)
