This is my favorite original Ailee track. She wrote it completely herself which I am very proud of her for. Me and Johnnyphlo are in the studio at the moment and we’re just talking about old times and this song came to mind. She has done a lot since this song and it isn’t her best vocal display but it’s a great structured song in my opinion. It was also only released via her Myspace which we all know is pretty much a dead medium in 2006. So hopefully this might remind the few who heard it in the past and be something special to those who haven’t. You can watch a live performance of this song here.

JL x Smaals x Manifest – Bloodsport
28 08 2010This is tough right here! The Northern Virginia natives recently liberated this track and I’m feeling it. JL starts off the track. I feel like he got a talent for starting songs. Smaals, you might know him from The Gift, kills the second verse and Manifest anchors it all. It’s rare in this day and age to hear Hiphop kept so raw but these dudes keep bringing it!

CeeLo Green – Fuck You
23 08 2010This song is so dope! CeeLo, orginally of Goodie Mob, more recently one half of Gnarls Barkley, is doing his solo thing on this joint and I’m loving it. This song is a blunt message to those girls that passed on guys who didn’t meet their financial standards. To put that more frank, this song goes out to the gold diggin’ hoes. This track got a funk/jazzy/James Brown type of sound and I’m feeling that a long with the lyrics. The first verse was especially outstanding to me. Listen for yourself!

Yongie Phresh feat. Decipher & Jdot – Holla At Me Remix
20 08 2010The youngboh Yongie Phresh just put out another track. How this song came about was I tagged along to one of Yongie’s studio sessions at Batcave studios in Philly. I was in the room while Yong was in the booth laying down the verse and I got bored just sitting there so I wrote this quick 8 bar verse and threw it on at the end. Yongie didn’t seem to mind so we ended up with this song. Jdot lended her vocals to the hook where she instructs you to jerk, which happens to be Yongie Phresh’s specialty. The original beat comes from Chris Brown and Tyga’s Holla At Me.

Decipher feat. Schoolboy Duke – Beauty Queen Sneak Preview

Johnnyphlo turned on the track “Beauty Queen” which is a collaboration with Schoolboy Duke, from Los Angeles, and my boy Yongie Fresh couldn’t help but get his dougie on! This song just brings that energy out I’m telling you. Flowsik – Find A Way Out
10 08 2010This joint is a classic for me. I remember the first time I heard it it was one of my first nights in Korea in 2004. I was going through some shit at that point in my life too so it was ill to hear someone feeling the same way. Sik poured his guts out on this one and it’s arguably his most popular track to date. Not sure who produced it but the beat is so dark and gutter and the sampled voice adds the perfect hook hauntingly repeating “Trying to find a way out.” I’m hoping people haven’t forgot about this joint so I’m shedding some light on it again. Word is Flowsik is focusing on producing now. But whatever he decides to do, know you got a classic that’ll live on homeboy!
