I’ve been receiving some ill tracks and mash ups ever since I dropped The Sound Effect. I just recently got this one so I thought I’d drop it for Music Monday. SJ dropped this off in my inbox. He mashed up the track I’m Ready off of my album The Effect and put my verse along with DFD’s and Jay’s on Epik High’s track The Future. The finished product is pretty ill but check it out for yourself.

The Sound Effect (The Effect Acapellas)
13 06 2011First and foremost, I would like to thank each and every one of you that have supported my latest album The Effect. It is by far my proudest piece of work to date and I’ve been receiving great feedback and that has been fueling my fire since.
Now, what I did here is a little project I have titled The Sound Effect. It’s a little bit of appreciation for the DJs and producers that really fuck with me. It’s the entire acapella sessions for The Effect. The general public won’t care about this but DJs will be able to create mash ups with whatever verses they want and producers can show me what they got with putting new twists on these songs.
I’m very excited myself to see what kind of remixes will come from this. If you create something dope with these acapellas email a link to info@muzoent.com and who knows what may come of it?

Surrilla – Slappage
16 05 2011After numerous delays the video is finally here! It was worth the wait to say the least. I was in LA a few weeks ago and I got to catch a short sneak peak of this joint and I was tight! Mad I don’t got a video like this lol. Surrilla did his thing though. The video is super high production and the song is fire by itself. Be sure to look out for more from Surrilla. This the one homie!

Freelance Whales – Generator First Floor
28 03 2011I have to be honest and say that a Starbucks commercial put me on to this song. Apparently it’s pretty old and the hipsters are upset that the song is so mainstream now but fuck it! I’m glad I got to come across is somehow. The sound is very folky but the lyrics to me are around grinding and hard work and rewards that come with it. It’s dope to me. Not your typical deciphermusic post but I like listening to everything, for real. Enjoy!

The Weeknd – High For This
28 03 2011The Weeknd is a hiphop/rock collective that I’ve come across through October’s Very Own. A few days ago they dropped their free mixtape House of Balloons. “High For This” is the lead track of that joint and I love this track. Puts me in a “Phill Collins – Feel It In The Air” mood for some reason. Peep this shit if you like good music, no pressure haha.

Throwback: Decipher – Hyundai Daewoo Kia
7 03 2011This aint really a legitimate “throwback” but yesterday marked the 1 year anniversary of me dropping this song so I thought that warrants a re-post. This song was really me getting back into the swing of things as an artist. It’s been a heavy grind since then so I just took a look back at what’s happened in this past year. Couldn’t ask for more. Thanks to all of you! Much more to come, I promise. It’s all just waiting in the bag for you, watch!

Decipher feat. Lyricks – Life (Music Video)
14 02 2011I was in NOVA (NOrthern VirginiA for those of you who aint know) this past weekend. It seems as though VA is just full of rappers and that’s one reason I like heading down south. Being around like-minded people is always cool and keeps me motivated about bidness. I also go down there just to chill and get away from time to time. Everybody needs time away from the daily grind, right? This trip I got to enjoy both sides of the game equally. My man Lyricks has been on his video grind heavy and when he approached me to shoot a visual for our track “Life” that appears The Effect I was more than down. It’s really dope to see how Stan Dillinger (Lyrick’s director alter-ego) does so much with so little. He executes his vision out of almost nothing. He basically freestyles these videos. Ill, huh? When I woke up that day I had no idea I was going to be shooting a video but I think that’s whats dope about it. The track is called “Life” and that’s really what it was, just another day in the life. Let me know what yall think of the track!

Damian Marley feat. Stephen Marley – Pimpass Paradise (Live)
7 02 2011I’ve posted the album version before but I just stumbled upon this unplugged live version and I’m a big fan of acoustic sets so this is this weeks Music Monday post. This is literally one of my favorite songs of all time. Not just Hiphop/Reggae or whatever box you want to put it in but one of my favorite songs ever. Enjoy!

Machine Gun Kelly feat. Mat Musto – End of the Road
31 01 2011I recently found out about Machine Gun Kelly through my boy and I really been fucking with homie music. Been rockin’ to his album Lace Up and this joint is probably my favorite cut on the album. MGK has a signature double time, rapid fire, automatic flow but he puts that away for this honest, straight from the gut song. He doesn’t even get complex with the rhyme scheme or nothing but you can tell by his words and delivery he really means every thing he’s saying. He speaks on his past and what he living like now and what he wants in the future and as a whole the song just works for me. Hope to see Machine Gun Kelly doing his thing for a while!

Lupe Fiasco – The Show Goes On
17 01 2011Music Mondays are back! I know this song has been out for a while but it still gives me a special kind of energy so I’m speaking on it. Lupe is one of my favorites artists because of his imagery and obviously his lyricism. Kane produced this joint who I think will be one of those goto producers for some time. He’s created epic soundscapes such as Lil Wayne’s “Steady Mobbin’” and Drake’s “Right Above It” and that big sound does not stop with this Lupe joint. The hook and the general sound of the track are just so inspiring and gives me a feeling of hope. I’ve been so busy pushing this new album and tripping over the little things I sometimes forgot to look at the big picture but this song reminds me the show must go on. One of my favorites for the moment so check it out!
