About a week ago I had a show with the Saving Thomas band. We got together for a good cause at the “Love, Philly” event and showed love to our city. After the show we found a little band room and we knew we had to do something for the people! The sound is struggling a bit but turn your speakers up and you should be ok. I spit a verse from my upcoming album The Effect. Saving Thomas’ album is out RIGHT NOW and you can cop that here. You’ll be hearing more Decipher x Saving Thomas collabs so look out!

Decipher – Catch Me If You Can feat. Ailee + The Effect Tracklist
15 11 2010“Catch Me If You Can” is the new release from my upcoming album The Effect, produced by one of my favorite producers, Corbett. The album has an official release date of January 4th, 2011. Ailee is now in Korea doing her music thing there but before she left she blessed me by helping with this track. The flow is something cold that yall can ride to and since the weather is going in that direction, I thought this sound would be appropriate. Listen for the third verse, you’ll be surprised. Download for free here. Enjoy! Check after the jump for the official tracklist for The Effect! Read the rest of this entry »

Far East Movement feat. Ryan Tedder – Rocketeer (Music Video)
1 11 2010I posted the live performance of this song a few weeks ago and announced that it would be FM’s following single to Like a G6 and now here it is. Ryan Tedder of One Republic lends his vocals to the song’s chorus. I love the video. It adds the perfect aesthetic without being too eletro-pop even though that’s where the sound might be. I copped the last two copies of their album Free Wired at my local Best Buy so it might be still sold out there but make sure to help sell out wherever you are! Go support!

Decipher feat. James Ha – Step into a World Freestyle
25 10 2010My upcoming album The Effect is ALMOST ready to go! I will be releasing a compilation mixtape titled The Cause that will include some very old material along with cuts from Up and Comin’ , Demix, some unreleased joints, as well as some collab tracks. In preparation for that I will be posting some throwback joints of mine to wet your palette. This will be the first of many.
James approached me about doing this video a year ago for a contest to open up for Common. Unfortunately, we were a day too late to be eligible but I posted the video on my youtube anyway. James does his signature body beatboxing and I spit a few bars. Admittedly, its not the most high production video or anything but I thought it might be something yall might enjoy. Even though this was just a year and some change ago, I feel I’ve come a long way in many aspects. You’ll see what I mean once The Effect is on deck!

Far East Movement feat. Ryan Tedder – Rocketeer (Live)
11 10 2010Yall definitely know about FM now from their smash single Like a G6 and if you support them you have to cop their album “Free Wired” which drops TOMORROW and is available for itunes presale RIGHT NOW. Johnnyphlo attended ISA NY and told me they performed this song at the end of their set and I was instantly depressed that I missed out. Ryan Tedder of One Republic lends his vocals to the chorus of this joint and kills it. It isn’t the bouncy electro feel that G6 gives you but that’s not what they were going for with this one. This song ends the album on a euphoric note telling us to reach for the stars and I feel that. This is a live performance of the song but like I said the CD quality joint will be available TOMORROW so please support and show them that Asian-American talent is and will be supported!

Lil’ Wayne feat. Drake – With You
27 09 2010First and foremost, happy birthday Weezy! Next, Lil’ Wayne’s LP “I Am Not a Human Being” is out today! Go support if you feeling it. Next, free Weezy! He’ll be out in a month or two matter of fact but homie has still been in heavy rotation everywhere so we haven’t had a chance to miss him. This song leaked a couple days ago and it appears on the LP that dropped today. Drake does not have a verse and only lends his vocals to half of the hook but it’s elegantly done. Obviously, this one is for the ladies and I think it’ll be all over the radio soon enough so remember where you heard it first!

Far East Movement – No One’s Home for the Holidays
21 09 2010FM seems to be everybody’s new favorite group and its well deserved. I’m gonna show off right now and say I’ve known of the homies for damn near a decade now. I remember when they used to post up at aznraps.com just like I used to. Now, their hit single Like a G6 is all over national radio and recently hit #4 on itunes charts. Congrats by the way! This song right here though I remember being a free download on aznraps. It’s a totally different sound from the direction they took but I still really enjoy it. Much success to FM and this post is just a reminder of where yall came from.

Ailee – Reminds Me Of You
30 08 2010This is my favorite original Ailee track. She wrote it completely herself which I am very proud of her for. Me and Johnnyphlo are in the studio at the moment and we’re just talking about old times and this song came to mind. She has done a lot since this song and it isn’t her best vocal display but it’s a great structured song in my opinion. It was also only released via her Myspace which we all know is pretty much a dead medium in 2006. So hopefully this might remind the few who heard it in the past and be something special to those who haven’t. You can watch a live performance of this song here.

CeeLo Green – Fuck You
23 08 2010This song is so dope! CeeLo, orginally of Goodie Mob, more recently one half of Gnarls Barkley, is doing his solo thing on this joint and I’m loving it. This song is a blunt message to those girls that passed on guys who didn’t meet their financial standards. To put that more frank, this song goes out to the gold diggin’ hoes. This track got a funk/jazzy/James Brown type of sound and I’m feeling that a long with the lyrics. The first verse was especially outstanding to me. Listen for yourself!

Sam Ock – Beautiful People
2 08 2010Sam is back with another original song here. On Beautiful People he raps the verses and still finds the energy to lay his signature crooner voice down on the hook and bridge. This video is actually an entry to the 2010 JCPenny Breakout contest that Clara Chung gained fame from of last year. All we have to do to help Sam is get this video as many views as possible. It’s an easy watch because the song is dope and really touches on a subject that I find important. He speaks on the superficiality that we often struggle with and the need to see ourselves and others as beautiful. Please help the homie and spread the word about this video!
